The article analyses some of Uphlistsikhe (another spelling Uplistsikhe) cave complexes and suggests that they might be identified as temples. However, this opinion is still only a hypothesis that needs further research and investigation.

Ancient Architecture of the Near East and Georgia: Interpretation Difficulties
Published in Caucasian Messenger (Special Issue), Tbilisi, 2002, pages 31-37 (in Georgian with English and Russian resumes).
The essay provides a short overview of architectural monuments of the ancient Near East and Georgia and shows that in both cases whole range of problems exist, what are related to interpretation of them. As a conclusion it is argued that state of knowledge and understanding of the ancient Georgian architecture is in the same frame as a knowledge and understanding of the history of architecture of the Ancient Near East.

In this article on the basis of analysis of architecture of Uphlistsikhe an attempt was made to prove the theory that Uphlistsikhe in antiquity was the religious centre of the country, as Delphi in Greece or Persepolis in Persia.

The essay analyses Uplistsikhe, the ancient rock-hewn city in Georgia and Hatra, a city in the northern Mesopotamia in the Parthian period. A number of features of those cities seem rather close and this may not be just coincidence.

Ancient Buildings in Armaziskhevi

In this article is revised the interpretation of the remains of structures which were discovered in the late forties of this century. It is proposed a hypothesis that here we have remains of so called Four Iwan type palace with the Roman type bath incorporated in the palace, which is unique case in this type of Oriental palaces.
